We engaged The Site Foreman for their Tender and Project Management Services. We had a good experience with the Tender Management Process, finding it well managed and competitive. Through this process we realised we needed someone “working with us” to liaise with the builder, and so chose to proceed with Project Management for the build.
We had a number of challenges with the builder and it was great to have the expertise, experience and sway of The Site Foreman to get through those moments (without us being the bad guy all the time) and ensuring we achieved a great result.
Having a dedicated Project Manager was most valuable when it came to managing the timeline, the variation process and ensuring claims were reasonable, providing technical building input and problem solving.
We had strong ideas on the finishes we wanted and had already procured a lot of items. We used the basic services provided by House To Home Finishes for specification and procurement. It was easy to see how it would work well with managing PC items if we hadn’t already sourced them.
Engaging The Site Foreman allowed us to maintain our lives, both professionally and personally over the period of our project. They bought an overlay of process, control and (to the extent possible) certainty to the time and cost of the project. They are “your guys” on the ground and they only answer to you. If you are not an experienced builder or build project manager, these guys will bring a level of process to the project to hold the builder accountable for the outcome.

Having lived in Balgowlah Heights since 1996, we were keen to try and move closer to the water and capitalise on the stunning water and district views, this desire coupled with the need to provide more space for our growing family sparked a wish to change. When the property we are now developing came up for auction in 2009 we jumped at the opportunity to upgrade. Knowing the block of land was worthy of a substantial home we engaged the services of a well-known local architect. The design was ambitious and warranted the need for a professional Project Management company to bring it to fruition and importantly on budget.
