After just moving house, I needed an old concrete patch removed in my backyard, which had served as a water tank base. It seemed a simple enough task. But with only a narrow pathway between the houses to access the yard, it quickly became a problem, as not even the smallest bobcat would fit through. Along came Tristan from TJ‘s TopGun Finishing, who was not deterred by this technicality, as he saw fit to do the job solely with hand-tools. Once he had started, it quickly became apparent, that the concrete patch was much thicker than anticipated. Turns out, when the previous owners built the house, they had extended the house slab base, to allow for the water tank to be placed on the extension — a slab three times as thick as would have been otherwise, and with not one, but two layers of steel. Of course the job took a lot longer than quoted, but Tristan fought his way through it all, not giving up. Even with Cyclone Alfred approaching, he was determined to see it through. And so he did, finishing the project against all odds, without heavy machinery, all with hand-tools alone. His tenacity is to be applauded. I can highly recommend TJ‘s TopGun Finishing, and I wish him well for the future.
