We engaged Nathan Arentz from ARENTZ TRADE SERVICES to relay our pavers in our basement garden patio that had become very uneven due to tree roots. He came on the same day to give a quote and offered two solutions. One that would remove the roots, dig out the sand/dirt and lay new sand for the pavers to be relayed on. The other slightly more complex with compressed road mix that would provide an extra defence for future regrowth. Both were detailed and extremely reasonable compared to other quotes we had received for the same work from other tradesmen. He also suggested ways we could reduce the quote by lifting up the pavers ahead of his work ourselves, which we choose to do. He was very proactive and so adaptable to our less than ideal situation with access (both with the lack of parking in Kings Cross and also the only access to the Patio being through the front door of the building). For both days that Nathan was on site he arrived on time and went above and beyond the agreed works when he found an issue with inadequate support under the pavers against the building that was contributing to long-term drainage issues… He alerted us to this and at no extra cost provided the materials and solution to address this issue. We would not hesitate to recommend his services and we have already engaged him for further improvements to our apartment.

Nathan did a great job renovating our balcony. He has the attention to details that makes his job stand out. He’s not the cheapest but he is honest about it and will good advice on how to proceed and what is required. I can recommend him
