The best way to get an accurate quote is with an inspection. Our expert Painters have a trained eye to let you know what is happening with your paint and this also gives us a chance to get a better idea of the overall finish you would like for your job.

However, should you wish to shop around we have prepared a checklist below to help you protect your home and ensure you are comparing ‘apples to apples.’ GUARANTEE – Living Colours offer a 200% guarantee on our work. If you are not happy on completion, we will redo the work (at our expense) to your satisfaction. Should you still not be satisfied that the work has been done as quoted, then we will pay one of our competitors to redo it for you. Check that any companies you deal with are willing to stand by their work. PAINT – Most manufacturers have 3 tiers of paint quality, a budget, standard and premium range. Living Colours only uses the Dulux Premium Range unless specified. Make sure any other company you consider specifies premium paint from a well-known brand in their quotation. QUOTING SYSTEM – Ensure that you read the specifics of the quotation carefully and that you are comparing ‘apples for apples’ in areas such as coats, professional preparation, quality of paint, etc. PRICE – Be wary as a cheaper price may reflect shortcuts, substandard preparation or workmanship or inferior materials, or may mean that the company does not pay certain overheads such as insurances. ASSOCIATIONS – Living Colours is a member of the Master Painters Association and Dulux Accredited. Is the other company affiliated with credible industry bodies? WARRANTY – Does the company offer a guarantee on workmanship? Living Colours guarantees their workmanship for at least 5 years. INSURANCE – Does the company have Public Liability insurance (copy available on request) and workers compensation? OH&S – Do all team members have a red card for building sites and follow OH&S protocol? TEAM – Is there a professional team of experts to ensure a good quality job in a faster time frame? ESTABLISHED – Living Colours has been operating in Australia for over 20 years with 32 years experience in the industry both here and in Europe. Has the other company been around for many years and likely to be around in the future? OWNERSHIP – Are the owners committed to the business such as family owned or owner-run? YES! Living Colours offer a 200% Guarantee. Our painters take pride in their work. Hearing the customers satisfaction with the completed project is what we strive for. If you're not happy with the completed work, we will come back at our own expense to ensure the job is done to the standard you requested.
Do you specialise in any work in particular?
We are fortunate to be the leading recommendation for Armadale Doors and Leadlight. High Gloss, Mirror Finish, Silk Finish and Stain, you name it we can do it, and do it well. We also specialize in Heritage homes. Sash windows are a skill we find not everybody can achieve. Wallpaper Hanging. Guess what? It's back in fashion. Staining, Cabinetry, Tiles, Metal works if you can paint it, we can do it.
How long have you been in the business?
Our business was established in 1980. Before retirement, the founder of the company passed it over to his supervisor of 10 Years, Mori Mehrabani. For the last 3 Years Mori has continued to hold up the values and pride of workmanship that has kept Living Colours Painting and Paperhanging one of Melbourne's most trusted painters for the last 40 years.
Is your pricing competitive?
No, we may not be the cheapest painters around. But we are open to some negotiation. You get what you pay for. At Living Colours Painting and Paperhanging we do the job properly the first time, so we don't leave you with any headaches, and doing it properly takes time. What are the terms of payment?
Terms of payment; We will require a deposit as specified above on acceptance of this quotation/contract. Progress claims are due within 7 days of invoice date. Balance due on completion unless commercial terms have been authorized in writing.
