If you’re looking to improve the visual appeal of your home, there are several design strategies that can be used. From mixing patterns, picking feature pieces to choosing complimentary colours, we’ll help you start your design project. With this being said, here are few tips on how to improve the look and feel of your home.
#1 Shades
One of the toughest challenges in home design is the process of choosing your favorite colors. Not all colors look great together. Some clash and some ruin the overall outlook of the home. On the other hand, some patterns don’t go well with certain color palettes. This is why you should choose colors wisely. Pick between warm and cool shades. Never mix the two!
#2 White
Starting with white gives the freedom to add colourful throws, rugs and ornaments to match the season. This means you can easily swap out your bold patterns for darker, richer tones during the colder months.
#3 Go Neutral
If you are choosing larger prints, you should go for neutral shades. Large prints should be mixed tastefully with other furniture and shades in your house. It would be wise to begin with layers of neutral shades and then use bold prints. Most bold patterns work amazingly with neutral shades.
#4 Mix & Match
Never stick onto a single scale while mixing and matching patterns in your home. Large scale patterns can blend with small scale prints wonderfully. Always go for bold art pieces that will feature your home’s interiors.
