The lounge room is a great place for entertaining or sharing the occasional meal. Before you start your lounge room re-design, you should consider first, what you would like out of the room and how it will be used. Below are our favourite lounge room designs for your inspiration.
Back to Nature
This is an example of a modern lounge room with an African twist. This can be seen in the flower vase, dark wooden furniture and through the animal skin ottoman. The success of this design is attributed to ornament placement and effective lighting.
Mixing Patterns
Mixing patterns is a great way to add personality to a room. Most individuals opt for this type of design because of its interchangeability.
Build up From White
Start with white and add colour! If you can't decide on a colour theme for your room, you can always go for a rainbow theme! Make sure when choosing this type of theme to use pastel colours and choose one feature colour. Too many bright colours can make a design appear confusing or overwhelming. In the design (above) they have chosen yellow as their feature colour.
Mood
Looking to set a mood? Dark, rich colours are great for the winter season, creating a cozy atmosphere. Grab colours from paintings and highlight in throws or pillows.
Grey Tones
Grey palettes are growing in popularity this season. Add bulky throws, delicate ornaments and numerous cushions to accentuate the look.
